"The Witch"

I've been fascinated by the idea of witches for the past few years. There is something about the energy around the idea of having powers that interests me, particularly when it is connected to changing of the seasons. This was painted in April when the weather shifts from winter to spring and was strongly influenced by the feeling in the air of early spring. The image of a witch levitating over a dark eerie forest above a bonfire came to mind during one of my early spring walks.
