Pysanky are Ukranian Easter eggs. As long as I can remember I've always admired them and wanted to make them. Unlike American Easter eggs that are pastel, the traditional Pysanky colors are red, yellow, orange, blue, green, and black. While the pastel colors very much signal "spring is here," the darker colors of the Pysanky to me feel more like a bridge between winter and spring.
