A winter walk through William Berry woods in Minneapolis inspired this mini series. It was a stark winter day, not too cold, but gloomy and overcast. I saw various oak leaves laying perfectly on top of the snow. It occurred to me that there is a simple elegance and restfullness in the starkness. At first glance it's just a dried up brown oak leaf, but it you look long enough there are all variations of colors.
